This opens up an entire gamut of actions that can be handled easily with pickups. Trucks come in all sizes, big and small, the bigger ones can even have 18 wheels.

History of Trucks
In 1896, Gottlieb Daimler built the first motor truck with a horsepower engine that had two forward speed gears and one backward gear. It was one of the first pickup ever built.

Types of Trucks

•	Dump truck
This type facilitates the carrying construction material which can eventually be dumped on site because the part carrying the material can be lifted to deposit the material/ sand/ gravel etc.

•	Flatbed truck
This variety neither has a roof nor sides due to which it facilitates easy carrying of goods/ material that are strong and do not get affected by external changes. These trucks are useful for material that is not fragile in nature.

•	Garbage truck
This as the name suggests carries garbage in smaller quantities and is a common sight in all the cities. It is a highly efficient way of carrying garbage and depositing the same in the requisite areas.

•	Heavy trucks
These are trucks that are used for long-distance transportation and are among the largest that are available. They are equipped to carry heavy goods.

•	Panel truck
It is a windowless truck that has a separate area for the driver so that the goods that are carried do not get affected by external factors. These trucks are generally used to transport perishable items like flowers, food items, bakery products etc. They are basically consumer products.

•	Semi-trailer truck
These are lorries designed to carry freight that include a towing machine with additional carriers.

•	Tanker truck
It is a truck designed as a motor vehicle equipped to carry liquefied loads, dry bulk cargo or gasses for road transportation. These trucks may be insulated or non-insulated, pressurized or non-pressurized.

•	Forklift truck
These are trucks that can pull, move, shift, push goods or material. They perform heavy duty activities that are required in various industries.

•	Mini trucks
These are utility trucks that help transport small articles that are economical since they do not cost as much as their bigger counterparts. For example, a truck on a golf course instead of golf carts.
